Dr Lisa Reynolds BVSc (2007)
Made in New Zealand, Lisa studied at Massey University, kept collecting stray cats and achieved top tier level at dairy cow production & medicine.

Eventually Lisa returned to her love of small animals in particular felines (at the risk of becoming a crazy cat vet!) She lives with Purrl the pudgy Burmese and is our ‘regular weekender’ working Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Outside of work you will find Grace playing the cello or netball, and spending time with her fiance, Gary. She loves to explore the hiking tracks and national parks in Tasmania.

Susan worked in Sydney as a part-time veterinary nurse and receptionist for 18 years. When she moved to Tassie (for a “sea change”) she worked in the north for a few months while exploring that part of Tasmania, moving down to Hobart in 2010. Susan started rescuing and fostering wildlife in Sydney in the ‘80s, specialising in possums and reptiles and has raised well over a hundred brushtail and ringtail joeys as well as rescuing countless snakes (both venomous and non-venomous) and lizards. She loves the lifestyle in Tassie and loves meeting all the 2-legged and 4-legged clients at AHVEC.

Nina has been working as a Veterinary Nurse for nearly a decade now, starting in Slovenia, Europe prior to coming to Tassie, and joining the AHVEC team in 2015. She loves the challenging and often extremely rewarding nature of Emergency Vet Nursing and all the “blood-sweat & (happy) tears” it entails. Her other areas of interest include animal behaviour, welfare and ethics and she strives to make the patients staying in hospital feel as comfortable and loved as humanly possible. She continues to be fascinated by Tasmania’s unique wildlife and natural heritage and loves discovering everything that makes living in Tassie special, like taking her kelpie cross Ziggy to the beach to play in the surf, or chasing the elusive Aurora lights at night.
